COMMITMENT TO INCLUSIVITY

Seattle Pole Dance recognizes the pole community has not been inclusive of all dancers and lacks diversity especially at the instructor level. Seattle Pole Dance is committed to continuously working to change this disparity in representation. 
In addition to a commitment to diversity in our hiring practices, Seattle Pole Dance commits to the following initiatives as a start: monthly pole jams open to all dancers free of charge; development of scholarship and internship programs aimed at increasing diversity in the pole community; and bi-annual community forums open to all community members to foster open communication and continuous change.

Seattle Pole Dance Diversity
Scholarship

In honor of our commitment to diversifying the pole studio industry, Seattle Pole Dance offers annual scholarships to underrepresented candidates interested in pursuing pole whether as an instructor, competitor, or dancer.
Each year, we award several scholarship to train at Seattle Pole Dance, including training and mentorship in instructing pole, as well as performance coaching and mentorship. Candidates can apply by sending a personal statement of 250 words or fewer to SeattlePoleDance@gmail.com by November 1st. The recipient will be selected in late November, with the scholarship year beginning in January

COMMUNITY POLE JAMS

Seattle Pole Dance offers monthly pole jams to all members of the community free of charge. Come and dance and share your love of dance with your friends and family. Pole jams will open all three studios to current dancers and guests, alike, with one studio designated for dancers only. Please come and enjoy our space and help us build a community that nourishes the joy of dance. Please see our schedule to sign up!
